Buying guide

The Aerohead II Mips® is Giro's most aerodynamic time trial helmet to date, designed with CFD and VR, and validated in wind tunnels with the world's fastest Team Visma riders.

DETAILS:

The hull construction consists of two elements: an ultra-strong outer shell and a polycarbonate lower shell. The latter is permanently fused to the inner lining, offering excellent strength while maintaining minimal weight.
The Mips Air Node system is a low-friction layer integrated into the inner padding, offering a lightweight, highly ventilated solution for reducing rotational energy. This layer is attached to the absorbent liner via strategically positioned Velcro attachment points. In the event of an oblique impact, these attachment points are designed to disengage locally, allowing the padding to slide off, thus reducing the rotational forces transmitted to the head.
Thanks to its ergonomic and compact micro-adjustable knob, this system allows independent adjustment of the helmet's vertical position and contact points, optimizing stability, ventilation and comfort.
Thanks to the exclusive Super Fit™ sizing system, Giro has designed helmets that perfectly fit all head shapes, based on scientific data and over 25 years of expertise. By creating helmet molds available in 4 adult sizes that perfectly fit your head morphology, the Super Fit system ensures a fit that's both comfortable and secure, as if the helmet had been made especially for you.
Giro Helmets feature the exclusive Wind Tunnel™ ventilation system. This sophisticated design combines active vents integrated into the shell with an internal channel system. This system circulates cool air over the rider's entire head while efficiently evacuating hot air. It's the most efficient cooling system on the market, and you'll feel the difference with every pedal stroke.
Pure silver is the secret ingredient that gives IONIC+® its ability to provide natural, permanent odor protection, keeping your Helmet always fresh.
The helmet's inner lining is boldly designed to facilitate air circulation. It works in synergy with the Wind Tunnel vents to create an optimal passageway for fresh air to enter and warm air to escape.

TECHNOLOGIES :

MIPS Integrated Spinal Protection System: All Giro Helmets are designed to reduce the amount of energy as much as possible, while meeting and exceeding the most stringent safety standards. The aim of Giro Helmets with Mips® is to reduce rotational forces. Giro believes that helmets equipped with this technology can reduce the rotational forces that are transferred to a person's brain during certain impacts.
Roc Loc® 5 Air MIPS fit system: This revolutionary fit system adds a new dimension to helmet performance by improving airflow, fit and stability. Thanks to a patented design that suspends the helmet slightly above the crown of the skull, the Roc Loc 5 Air Mips allows cool airflow to pass directly over your head, enhancing the performance of the helmet's internal heat-removing vents and channels. The fit and feel configuration is similar to that of the Roc Loc 5 Mips, allowing you to easily customize the helmet's front or rear tension and tilt in seconds with just one hand.
Wind Tunnel ventilation: Giro helmets are developed using the unique Wind Tunnel ventilation system. This sophisticated design combines active vents in the helmet shell with internal evacuation channels that direct cool, fresh air over and around the rider's head, while evacuating heat and stagnant air. It's the most efficient ventilation system available, and you'll feel the difference every time you ride.
