Urge, innovative French MTB helmets
Urge, the upcycling company, was born in 2008 thanks to the avant-garde ideas of 5 passionate people who wanted to protect our heads and the planet. Pioneers from the start in eco-design, love of nature and enduro biking, Urge quickly developed partnerships with ambassadors to support them in their activity and develop with their help our new models.
In the manner of a professional cycling team that must combine different strengths in order to make a coherent and effective whole in different environments, Urge was able to federate around a team of different but no less complementary individualities.
Initially specializing in mountain bike helmets, we quickly realized that the demand for eco-responsible helmets went beyond mountain trails. We have therefore launched since 2018 our road, gravel and urban ranges in order to protect all cyclists. Our helmets are designed in our offices, in Provence, where we enjoy the climate and the surroundings to exercise during the lunch break (cycling, swimming, running).
Urge, a committed brand
As a member of the 1% for the planet, we donate 1% of our turnover to associations that fight to preserve the environment.
Today, all our helmets are made of 80% recycled materials. Our straps are made of PET from recycled plastic bottles.
Our helmet shells are made of EPS (expandable polystyrene) recycled from automotive industry waste.
The third material used is recycled ABS, which is used in our visors, chinstraps and full-face helmet shells.
Our boxes are made of unvarnished cardboard and our helmets are packed in a corn starch bag that is entirely compostable and biodegradable.
