Description
The Giro Insurgent Spherical gives the best protection our riders demand, from Enduro World Series to Red Bull Rampage. Our engineers have maximized the fresh and cool air intake points while optimizing the exhaust ports and connecting everything with deep channels. A set of lightweight, soft-touch, absorbent pads includes a forehead pad with a dedicated flange to keep sweat away from your eyes. Two different cheek pads are included with each of the three sizes, allowing for a customizable fit, and are secured by a directional snap system for easy removal in the event of a collision. At 1040 grams in size M/L, the Insurgent is 200 grams lighter than the Disciple Mips despite the added features, including the advanced protective performance of Spherical Technology.
The Insurgent Spherical uses a pair of foam layers that work like a ball and socket to redirect impact energy in a collision. One layer is EPS, which is well suited to high speed impacts. The other is a lower density EPP foam, with rebound characteristics, which can cope with low speed impacts and rollovers.
Other features include a patent-pending Flex Gasket along the bottom edge of the helmet, designed to reduce the role a helmet can play in certain collarbone impacts, tool-free breakaway visor bolts with an integrated Allen spanner receiver for easy removal, and a central visor bolt hole that does double duty as an ideal mount for P.O.V. action cameras. The Giro Insurgent Spherical is truly optimized protection for riders who are redefining what is possible in progressive mountain biking.
