Description

Intuitive belay system with reliable rope locking. The first generation of the Smart belay system was introduced to the market in 2009. Building on years of experience, the Smart 2.0 offers significantly more effective braking, optimized geometry, and intuitive handling. The new braking insert locks the rope in the event of a fall. The Smart 2.0’s belay mechanism functions similarly to that of its predecessor and is therefore adapted to the belayer’s reflexive movements.

DETAILS:

Weighing a mere 80 grams, the Smart 2.0 is easy to use and has no parts or levers to operate.
Based on the tube principle, the Smart 2.0 is suitable for both lead climbing and top-roping.
In the event of a fall, the Smart 2.0 locks the rope, and the new high-performance braking insert interacts with the safety carabiner. This ensures the belayer is fully equipped and safer.
For the Smart 2.0, Mammut recommends using the Smart HMS. Suitable rope diameters: 8.7 to 10.5 mm
