What are today's mountain enthusiasts looking for in their footwear? First and foremost, versatility, and the Duke Mid GTX, the first shoe in Kayland's new Hiking Advanced category, is the perfect answer.
DESCRIPTION :
SOLE
Kayland's mountaineering DNA is reflected in the Duke Mid GTX: the sole features a significant increase in the EVA midsole and has been specially designed to offer maximum comfort and cushioning to the foot, even on the most challenging terrain.
The foot rests directly on the dual-density EVA midsole, which offers a soft contact zone. This is combined with a high-density ESS zone just above the outsole, designed to provide optimum cushioning on impact and visible through the openings in the Vibram® Duke outsole.
The outsole features traction lug technology: a tread pattern designed specifically for varied terrain, stones, gravel and grass, which ensures better grip underfoot.
The toe features a climbing zone, ideal for more demanding trails or via ferratas, while the rubber toe cap and extended sole fins protect the foot and improve shock absorption.
TIGE AND LINING
The Duke Mid GTX features a fabric upper with seamless PU inserts and the Gore-Tex Invisible Fit membrane laminated directly to the upper. This special construction technique reduces weight to a minimum. The mesh collar is protected by laminated polyurethane and features a rear spoiler that adapts perfectly to ankle movements.
Impact protection is provided by Kayland's Overlasting construction, which combines a polyurethane heel, which fully protects the toes, and an extended sole length, which wraps the ends of the shoe to provide additional impact protection.
The lace closure is precise and comfortable, with eyelets and hooks to ensure that the laces stay in place for the duration of the hike.
