Description

The new, futuristic HUD-Y is the perfect companion for the city. This bike helmet exudes a fresh, modern vibe and blends seamlessly into any urban landscape.

Take the deep fit of modern mountain bike helmets, the head shape of the GameChanger road bike helmet, and add a dash of science fiction for the road. Now add the rechargeable, magnetically attached rear LED, and there you have it—the modern city helmet is here! At the back of the helmet is a magnetic USB light strip that offers four different lighting modes. The lighting duration depends on whether Power Mode, Eco Mode, Flashing Mode, or Pulsing Mode is activated. In addition to models in elegant, mostly solid colors, there are also high-visibility colors, for example, for groups of people working in the security sector. For anyone who wants to ride in style and with protection, the ABUS HUD-Y Urban helmet is a must-have.

TECHNOLOGIES of the ABUS HUD-Y Helmet:

  • Lower-edge protection: The polycarbonate (PC) outer shell covers the lower edge of the helmet and protects against scratches, impacts, and wear and tear
  • Ponytail-friendly: Thanks to the height-adjustment system, the helmet is also suitable for long hairstyles such as ponytails, buns, or braids
  • Acti Cage™: allows for larger ventilation openings thanks to foam reinforcement of the structure, while ensuring high stability
  • Reflective sticker: for better visibility in the dark
  • Rechargeable magnetic tail light: attaches to the back of the helmet using magnets and ensures better visibility—can be recharged with a micro-USB charging cable
  • IP44: a protection rating that, for electronic products such as lights, certifies protection against solid foreign objects larger than 1 mm and against water splashes
  • Four different lighting modes (rear light): Steady, Power, Pulse, and Flash to choose from—adapted to lighting conditions and weather conditions
  • Operating time per mode in hours (minutes): Depending on weather conditions and usage, the light’s operating time is at least 2 hours in steady mode and at least 24 hours in flashing mode.
  • Battery charging time (light): The charging time to fully charge the battery is approximately 1 hour
  • Adjustable visor: a small, stylish visor that serves as a sunshade, with two positions to choose from for folding it up or down
  • Zoom™ Spin adjustment system: a dial at the back of the head for individual adjustment of the helmet to the head circumference
  • Trivider™: an exceptionally flat strap separator with fixed strap positioning to prevent accidental loosening
  • Comfort pads: soft padding inserts for optimal comfort, secured inside the helmet with Velcro
  • Removable and washable padding: can be removed and hand-washed or replaced as needed
  • Magnetic closure: To allow the chin strap to be opened with one hand—even while wearing gloves—the straps are equipped with a high-quality FIDLOCK magnetic closure
  • In-Mold Process: A manufacturing process in which the inner shock-absorbing expanded polystyrene (EPS) material is directly injected into the polycarbonate (PC) outer shell, resulting in a durable and robust construction
