The Empire XC builds on the success of previous models while retaining the features that have made it popular with gravel cyclists and XC competitors. Giro has opted for a more flexible Teijin microfiber upper, offering optimal comfort and a perfect fit without ever being too tight. The new co-molded carbon composite and Sensor rubber outsole provides excellent foot grip, optimal power transfer when pedaling, and exceptional durability. Easily replaceable laces allow for a personalized fit, while the Supernatural™ insole offers three levels of arch support. High performance and classic, clean styling, ideal for the most challenging terrain.
DETAILS:
- SENSOR™ Rubber – Giro's exclusive rubber formula optimizes grip and durability without compromising lightness. The rubber outsole is co-molded with the carbon composite plate for a durable, glue-free design.
- SUPERNATURAL ADJUSTMENT SYSTEM – The Supernatural adjustment system includes an insole and adjustable arch support with low, medium, and high wedges. Adjust to optimize fit and pedaling efficiency while reducing the risk of common discomforts such as numbness, pressure points, and cramps.
- CO-MOLDED CARBON COMPOSITE PLATE – Designed by Giro for optimal stiffness and forefoot flexibility for walking without compromising power transfer. The carbon plate is co-molded with Sensor rubber for perfect, long-lasting optimization.
COMPOSITION:
- Upper: 78.3% synthetic polyurethane, 21.7% TPU film. Lining: 100% synthetic polyurethane. Sole: 57.3% nylon (60% PA6 + 30% fiberglass + 10% carbon fiber), 42.2% rubber.
