MTB pedals: flat and clipless pedals

On a bike, it is very important to choose the right pair of pedals as it is a contact point between the bike and the rider.
There different types of pedals to choose from, depending what type of cycling you do. You can buy either flat pedals or clipless pedals.

MTB clipless pedals require cycling shoes with cleats fitted to the outersole. Most riders choose clipless pedals for a better power transfer and smoother pedal stroke: with clipless pedals, you have a solid connection to your bike!

Being attached to the pedal does not suit all riders. If it's your case, you can choose MTB flat pedals. In some Gravity disciplines such as Freeride and Downhill, where removal of the foot and quick placement is key, it is better to choose flat pedals.

On Alltricks.com, you will find a huge range of MTB clipless and flat pedals at unbeatable prices. All the biggest brands are available: Shimano, Time, Look, Crankbrothers, Hope...

MTB Pedals: A True Technical Footrest

You just got your new hardtail MTB and are wondering which MTB pedals to install? Choosing a pedal is not random in MTB, just as in fixed-gear bikes where pedals are even used for braking! The pedal is essential equipment because it transfers power between the bike and the rider. Like in BMX or road cycling, the pedal consists of an axle around which a platform (automatic or not) rotates, where the rider places their foot.

It is important to find the model that best suits you based on numerous technical criteria such as weight, impact resistance (in MTB, the pedal is exposed and often gets caught during small obstacles), and design. This last criterion has become essential for choosing a pedal, as brands create different and increasingly innovative designs.

Your choice of MTB pedal will therefore depend on the type of grip you want.

On our website Alltricks.com, you will find automatic and flat MTB pedals suited to your practice, from the best brands: Time, Shimano, Look, Ritchey, etc.
