History of the Lagoped Brand
Lagoped is a French outdoor brand founded in 2018 by three mountain enthusiasts (Christophe, Pierre, and Julien). They chose the ptarmigan, a snow bird they often encountered during their hikes, as their symbol. Lagoped aims to produce environmentally friendly clothing. To achieve this, the brand primarily uses recycled materials, with many products containing over 95% recycled materials. Lagoped also sources most of its materials in Europe and is very transparent about the origin of the materials used. This European sourcing allows Lagoped to avoid carbon emissions from transportation and ensures compliance with European textile industry standards. Lagoped specializes mainly in selling mountain jackets, pants, beanies, and upper garments (fleece, t-shirts, etc.). Finally, to ensure the quality of its products, the brand tests most of them in real conditions by hiking and mountaineering experts.
Lagoped Supa 2 Pants
The Lagoped Supa 2 pants are the flagship pants of the Lagoped range. They consist of three different layers that make the pants windproof and waterproof while remaining breathable. They are also 100% made and sourced in Europe, a remarkable achievement for such a technical garment. Here's how: First, the outer thread is Italian (made from recycled plastic bottles), while the weaving and dyeing are done in Ardèche. Second, the membrane is a polyester made in Europe from recycled membrane scraps. Third, the inner layer is an Italian mesh made from recycled yarn. Finally, the three layers are combined in Austria before being assembled in Poland. Phew! Lagoped thus achieves an excellent technical product, made in Europe, and good for the environment (PTFE-free...). This product has been tested and approved in real conditions (descent from the 6,096m Pic Laila in Pakistan).
Lagoped Tetras, Eve & Everide Mountain Jackets
The Tetras, Eve, and Everide models are Lagoped's flagship models for waterproof hiking jackets. These three models are waterproof thanks to their Sympatex membranes (resistant to a water column of 20,000mm).
Lagoped Upper Garments & Fleece
Lagoped is also a brand specializing in upper garments. This includes fleece (Sweece, Juleece, Rypa, Phantom) and t-shirts (Teerec). These products are sourced from France, Spain, and Italy.
Lagoped Gebo Beanie
Finally, Lagoped is a major manufacturer of beanies. The brand offers numerous products, all made and sourced in France and Italy.
