Gravel tyres are very specific to this discipline and are chosen according to the type of practice and the terrain..
The tyre profile is very different from a road bike tyre, a city bike tyre, a BMX tyre or a mountain bike tyre. As most gravel bikes have no suspension, the choice of tyre plays a very important role in the behaviour of the bike in order to maintain a high level of comfort on the road and grip on the downhill. It is therefore important to choose the right tyres as they are the direct contact with the ground.
There are several factors to consider when choosing a gravel tyre. Indeed, there are 3 types of tyres for gravel:
The choice will mainly depend on the road/path ratio you are going to use. The Gravel tyre is an in-between road and mountain bike tyre that allows you to be efficient on both road and paths.
When choosing a Gravel tyre, you should also consider the size of the tyre. A Gravel tyre usually starts at around 700c but can also be 650b if you want a bit more feel for your ride. Finally, you will have to make a choice for the mounting profile: tubeless tyres or air chambers. In Gravel, the tubeless is the most used because of its resistance to punctures (thorns, pinches or others)
You will find on Alltricks all the Gravel Tyres adapted to your practice, among the best brands: Continental, Michelin, Maxxis, Gear...
