What Size to Choose for the New Balance FuelCell Propel v5?
The New Balance FuelCell Propel v5 offers a precise fit with a very secure heel counter. However, unlike many models from the brand known for their width, the toe box of this v5 is slightly narrower.

Although both feature FuelCell foam, they serve different purposes. The Rebel v4 is a lighter, more flexible shoe without a plate, designed for pure speed. The Propel v5, on the other hand, includes a TPU plate, making it slightly firmer but offering much more stability and versatility for daily training.
No, it does not have a carbon plate, but it is equipped with a TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) plate. This material is more flexible and forgiving than carbon. It provides a bouncing effect and facilitates the transition to the forefoot while maintaining natural comfort, very suitable for everyday use.
The shoe has a 6 mm drop (35 mm at the heel, 29 mm at the forefoot). This is a very modern transitional drop that promotes a natural foot strike and is particularly well-suited for runners who strike with their midfoot.
The soft cushioning of the Propel v5 allows you to confidently consider distances up to the half marathon. If you want to run a marathon, it is entirely possible if your goal is to finish comfortably. However, for chasing a record over 42 km, more technical models like the SuperComp Elite would be more appropriate.
