Description

Intuitive belay system with reliable rope locking. The first generation of the Smart belay system was introduced to the market in 2009. The result of years of experience, the Smart 2.0 offers a significantly more efficient braking effect as well as optimized geometry and intuitive handling. The new brake insert blocks the rope in the event of a fall. The operation of the belay device of the Smart 2.0 is similar to that of its predecessor and therefore adapted to the reflex movements of the insurer.

With its featherweight 80 grams, the Smart 2.0 is easy to use and does not have any part or lever to manipulate.
Based on the tube principle, the Smarter 2.0 is suitable for both lead and top climbing.
In the event of a fall, the Smart 2.0 locks the rope and the new high-performance brake insert interacts with the safety carabiner. The insurer is thus perfectly equipped and safer.
For Smart 2.0, Mammut recommends using Smart HMS. Suitable rope diameter: 8.7 to 10.5 mm.
