The postural study - technique
The postural study with the Bioracer Motion system consists of a fitting bike, adjustable to the millimeter in all positions, two carbon wings equipped with ultra-precise infrared cameras installed on each side of the cyclist, and 20 wireless sensors placed on the joints (10 on each side of the body). It is thus possible to capture the cyclist's movements on both sides, at a speed of 120 images per second. The recorded data can then be used to provide a 3D view of all movements on the bike, whether laterally, or from above or behind.
Instead of the adjustable bike, it is possible to perform the postural study with the bike usually used by the cyclist. This makes the adjustment process faster than with the Bioracer bike, but limits possible changes in position, for example if the choice of bike is too far from the ideal size. If a change of stem or handlebars is necessary to make the final decision, fitting to a conventional bike can also increase the time needed for the postural study.
In addition to the 3D display of movements, the Bioracer system also allows the analysis of specific joint movements. The operator can zoom in on a specific joint and study its movements precisely, and possibly compare them with those of the opposite joint. Other parameters are also measured, such as the maximum and minimum angles of the joints. All these data will be useful to the operator when making a decision on a specific adjustment or position.
