The Zipp 404 Firecrest Tubeless Disc Brake Wheel has been the speed icon for 3 decades. With its 58 mm height, the 404 Firecrest tubeless is ideal for road competitions, time trials, triathlon, cyclo-sports and practice on varied terrain. The 23mm internal width of this wheel has been optimized to fit wide tubeless tires at low pressures. This model is a true ambassador of TSE (Total System Efficiency) technology, an approach to speed on varied terrains and for constantly evolving practices.
The 404 Firecrest's Hookless rim is an integral part of Zipp's ?Making you faster? philosophy. With this hookless design, the interface between the tire and the rim is smoother and more aerodynamic. A bike / rider system with a total weight of 85 kg (187 lb) with the new 404 Firecrest and 25 mm tires requires 286 watts of energy to maintain a speed of 40 km / h. This represents a saving of 4 watts compared to the old model 404 Firecrest. At the heart of the 404 Firecrest tubeless disc brake is the ZR1 DB hub, designed in Germany, offering versatility and durability.
