Calf warmers were first introduced to the sporting world at the Sub7 / Sub8 challenge, the 3:Sixteen design and name a nod to the 3-hour, 16-minute bike stage that saw Joe Skipper achieve a sub-7-hour Ironman. The team was made up of some of the world's best time trialists, including Alex Dowsett and Dan Bigham, recently crowned UCI hour record holder, who crushed the opposing team to deliver one of the most incredible time trials of all time.
