Because the design team was tasked with creating a fully waterproof, easy-to-store Jacket that was no bigger than an orange when packed. The idea is to always be able to stow this Jacket in your backpack and be ready for the unexpected on the mountain. Complete weather protection in an incredibly lightweight and compact form - that's The Orange Jacket.

How does it work?
From a layering point of view, the idea behind the Women's The Orange Jacket is actually to allow you to wear more other clothes. Let's face it: if you're heading out on a run, hike, ski tour or long climbing route, a waterproof jacket is rarely the most comfortable option (you generally want to maximize breathability). But you should never go without a Jacket in case of unpredictable mountain weather. That's why Houdini has designed a fully waterproof shell Jacket that you can carry effortlessly and always be ready in case of bad weather. And when the need arises, the ultralight, soft and quiet fabric makes the garment extremely comfortable to wear.

What are the features of this Jacket?
The Women's The Orange Jacket is a minimalist jacket, and to save weight and bulk, Houdini hasn't added any extra features, apart from the essentials. A chest pocket and a hood that can be rolled up. The main feature of this garment is its design and feel. This is no ordinary shell jacket, but a whole new type of ultralight garment that you'll barely feel when you're wearing it, but which will keep you dry in a storm.

When should you use it?
The Orange Jacket for women is designed for mountain sports where weight and packability are essential: trail running, ski touring, mountaineering or rock climbing. When you keep it in your pack, you won't even know it's there, and when bad weather hits, it'll keep you dry and happy. Of course, it can also be used as a super-light, comfortable rain jacket for all those times when you're not charging through the mountains.

The Orange Jacket is made from recycled and recyclable polyester, allowing for a circular product life cycle where nothing ever becomes waste. It is also totally free of toxic chemicals and PFAS.
