With Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl Team, Castelli has embarked on a project to make seamless sleeves even better. Other cuffs on the market are made of a nylon/Lycra® blend that tends to retain moisture, so to ensure better moisture management, Castelli preferred to use polyester threads. However, polyester makes it more complicated to achieve the perfect level of stretch, elastic return and consistency. The process took a year longer than expected, but Castelli is pleased that they didn't let up. These sleeves are a staple for pro cyclists because they are both incredibly light and extremely warm for their weight, and even in milder conditions you don't overheat. They're so stretchy you barely feel them, and when you take them off and store them in one of your pockets, they take up a fraction of the space of regular cuffs.
