On the other hand, the Performance 9 L mattress features innovative insulation: The interior of the mattress is divided into separate convection zones by a reflective film. The air warmed by the sleeper circulates at the top, while the cold from the floor is blocked at the bottom. The heat emitted by the sleeper is also reflected. Even though the Performance 9 L mattress does not require traditional insulation made of down or synthetic fibers, we recommend using a pillow or a VAUDE air bag to prevent moisture from penetrating the mattress.
