The Bluecliff ES is synonymous with stability and comfort. With its higher shaft and sturdy sole, it's suitable for a wide range of hiking activities, including low mountains and long hikes. What sets this model apart? Its high-quality upper is made of nubuck and suede leather, which is applied to the heel and toe because it's particularly robust. To help keep feet dry, its classic Derby cut features an opposing tongue tab. This is also supported by HANWAG's exclusive PFC-free EcoShell membrane, which is waterproof, breathable and durable. The membrane is part of a multi-layer laminate. For the Bluecliff ES, we use a four-layer laminate that guarantees exceptional breathability and high comfort - which becomes even more important on long hikes. The fourth layer is an extra layer of insulation, making this shoe ideal for autumn and spring hikes. A special feature is the Hike Pro outsole. This features a four-millimeter-deep tread and extra-large studs with a wider contact zone and a particularly grippy rubber compound. What's more, the special construction of the midsole (3D IPU) guarantees a perfect fit and a smooth ride. This is made possible by the combination of stabilizing, expanded PU and a glass-fiber reinforced polypropylene stabilizer. To firmly secure the foot and ensure good heel retention, HANWAG uses high-quality, durable metal eyelets and hooks that require no riveting, as well as 2-zone lacing with lace hooks.
