Description
A very grippy grip and the most advanced foam in handlebar tape. Cushioning equivalent to 2.5mm tape with only 1.85mm of foam. Comfort without the bulk of thicker tapes.
Inspired by advances in racing shoe foam and F1 tires, as well as our own research into rolling efficiency, impedance and cushioning, we realized that new material technology could significantly improve the handlebar tape.
By using a laminate of SILCAthane, SILCAlon and 3M viscoelastic adhesive instead of a single foam extrusion, the tape can be optimized for a range of desired characteristics.
The resulting tape is softer and more comfortable to the touch, offers better dry and wet grip, better vibration isolation and 3-5 times the durability of existing tapes. Because the tape wrap can be as important as the tape itself, we also developed a fully adhesive "butterfly" to better cover the back of the lever clamp area without adding bulk, a high-tack finish tape, and expandable aluminum/composite end caps to ensure every detail is perfect.
