Description

The Maxxis Rekon Race is a semi-slick XC race tyre with the lowest tread in our XC range. It is an excellent choice for dry XC tracks and short-track racing.

Maxxis Wide Trail XC tyres are optimized for use with 30 mm internal width rims, but work well on rims as narrow as 25mm. Maxxis does not recommend rims wider than 30 mm or narrower than 25 mm.

EXO is a cut and abrasion resistant material added to the sidewalls of many Maxxis MTB and Gravel tyres. This dense fabric is lightweight and very flexible, ensuring that the performance of the tyre is not affected. Choose EXO protection for increased durability in gravel, XC and light touring.

Technology : Wide Trail

Wide Trail (WT) construction optimizes the tyre's tread pattern and profile on today's wider, modern rims. Traditional tyres are designed for older, narrower rims and can create a tyre profile that is too square, which does not allow for optimal performance. WT tyres are optimised for an inner rim width of 35mm, but have been shown to work on a range of inner rim widths from 30-35mm, depending on rider preference.
