Description

What is a QXL chainring?

The new QXL is a Q-Ring with increased ovality. It has the same shape as the standard Q-Ring, to maintain exceptionally smooth transmission.


QXLs are designed for riders with predominantly fast muscle contraction (fast fibers). These are generally the so-called "Powerful" runners, with above-average muscle mass and peak power (sprinters, for example). For these athletes, greater ovalization enables them to reduce negative work compared to our standard ovalization. The QXL is more effective for sprinting and climbing, as it optimizes peak power while dead spots become more critical.
