The Strangler Bar uses multiple butted tubes, with an oversized 254 mm option for riders who need the strongest possible handlebars.
The increased 25.4 mm diameter tube where the stem grips the handlebars allows the handlebars to be gripped much tighter than the traditional 22.2 mm tube found on most handlebars and stems.
Bars have become increasingly tall over the years, and the leverage that passes through the bar and into the stem often results in the bar slipping in the stem or, worse still, cracks in the clamping area on 2pc and especially 4pc bars.
The Strangler 25.4 mm bar combines the 25.4 mm clamping area with a 25.4 mm gripper tube, which then tapers to a normal 22.2 mm tube higher up the bar.
By using larger-diameter tubes at the contact zone, you almost double the amount of material in contact, resulting in a significantly stronger joint.
