The Absoluteblack Road Chain Catcher is designed to eliminate the possibility of the chain falling towards the frame when shifting to the bottom bracket on an uneven road. The Road Chain Catcher is a simple add-on component that improves the overall function of your drivetrain and protects your valuable frame from chain jumping. This dropout is particularly recommended for riders who use carbon frames.
No matter how well the front derailleur is set up with round or oval bushings, it is always possible for the chain to fall off the frame when you switch quickly from the outer to the inner bushings. This is especially true on rough roads or in gravel. Fitting a chain catcher hanger to the front derailleur will prevent this from happening, as the chain will be guided precisely on the small ring and will not be able to go further towards the frame.
The Absoluteblack Road Chain Catcher has a tapered head, which makes it an excellent fit for braze-on mounts that are integrated into the frame. However, with older frames you can use a clamp type braze-on adapter. In this case, please ensure that your adapter also has a tapered (not flat) front face.
Unlike the majority of anti-skid legs on the market, the AbsoluteBLACK one can be fine-tuned to ensure that minimal space is left to the inner plate for maximum safety.
